Misun - "Eli Eli"
I've seriously enjoyed quite a few songs from the DC-based Misun, but I think that their latest, "Eli Eli", might be my favourite. The track opens with some funky (yet simple) guitar riffs and repetitive piano chords that strikes me as the kind of thing you would expect to hear in decades past. Add in the low-fi vocals that are key to Misun's sound, and you have a song that is giving me flashbacks to a time that I'm not even sure I was alive for. I realize how little that makes sense, but give the song a listen and tell me you don't get a feeling of nostalgia.
