Volcano Choir - "Byegone"
My friend Brian (who wrote this wonderful review of the HAIM show) mentioned Volcano Choir to me a while ago, but I only just gave them a serious listen. If you like Junip, you'll probably like these guys. If you like Bon Iver, you'll almost definitely like these guys. A side project of Bon Iver lead Justin Vernon, Volcano Choir has a bit of the feel of Bon Iver while still being an entirely different (and very well thought-out) band. “Byegone” comes from Volcano Choir's sophomore album, Repave, and is a great blend of acoustic and electric elements - definitely my favourite song from the album.
And if you have 40 minutes to spare, a full listen of Repave is always a great way to spend it.
