Passion Pit - "Lifted Up (1985)" & "Where the Sky Hangs"
I had been thinking about Passion Pit last week after listening to them on the newest Madeon track and in a remarkably unusual move Passion Pit has since released two new singles from their upcoming album, Kindred. "Lifted Up (1985)" is the first taste of Passion Pit's upcoming album and if you weren't a fan of Cambridge-based band before...well you probably won't like this one either. Passion Pit is one of those divisive bands that you either love or hate. Personally, I am a fan of the group, though I will admit that this song isn't quite enough to get me excited about the new album.
That being said "Where the Sky Hangs", which was released this morning, takes a more relaxed approach and is easily my preferred song of the two. It is the same style of jubilant synth-pop song that the group has become known, but doesn't have the almost yelling quality that you hear in "Lifted Up". It is more of what I'm hoping to hear on Kindred and has definitely piqued my interest.
Kindred is due out April 21st. Pre-order your copy here.
