San Fermin - "Jackrabbit"
San Fermin is gearing up for the release of their sophomore album and recently dropped the title track off the new album, "Jackrabbit". The song is their usual blend of indie, pop, alternative, and folk but unlike their earlier releases, which have been recorded with as many as 22(!) members, this was recorded with the 8 touring members of the band. I wasn't sure initially how I felt about that, since the sheer size of the sound from the group's debut album is part of what made it as incredible as it is. That being said, when Charlene Kaye belts "Run for the hills, run for the hills, run!" and the band goes for broke on the chorus, there is no lack of energy.
Jackrabbit is due out April 21st. San Fermin is also doing a bunch of tour dates with Natalie Prass in the late spring (including a stop in Vancouver on May 24th). Be sure to pick up tickets for that show.
