Young Wonder - "Intergalactic"
The first song I heard by Young Wonder was To You, and it quickly became one of my favourite songs of 2013. Since then I hadn't heard much from the Irish duo until yesterday when they released “Intergalactic”. Where To You (and the rest of the Show Your Teeth EP that it was from) was almost bursting at the seams with sound Intergalactic is more tempered, but also more expansive. It feels as though each and every sound you hear was selected for a very specific reason, and all the excess was trimmed away leaving nothing but the minimal production and Rachel Koeman's voice floating out in space.
