Grace Mitchell - "NoLo"

Happy Friday! Now that New Music Tuesday have become New Music Fridays, Fridays have earned yet another reason to be the best day of the week. With that in mind, time for some new music. Coming from the city of Portland, Grace Mitchell has just released her brand new EP, Raceday, and it is a keeper. If you recognize the name, it may be from her cover of "Maneater" on the soundtrack for The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (a cover she did when she was 16). From the now 17 year-old's EP, my favourite is definitely the electric "NoLo". To use to use a description I heard earlier, it sounds like a combination of Two Door Cinema Club, Phoenix, and Vampire Weekend all mixed in to one with a female vocalist. Sounds like a win to me.
