Small Black - "Boys Life"

Jagjaguwar is a label that I trust just about 100%, and by that I mean I cannot think of any band signed under them that I do not enjoy. As such I love following their SoundCloud page, as it is filled with gem after gem. The latest such track is "Boys Life" from Small Black. I was surprised to find out that Small Black have actually been around for some time now, and are currently gearing up to release their third LP, Best Blues, from which "Boys Life" is taken. This track is crisp and clean, but just a little hazy along the edges giving it an almost surreal feel to it with the help of rhythmic synths and sweeping, distorted string elements in the background. I don't know if this song is indicative of the rest of Small Black's repertoire, but it is more than enough to get my attention.[

Best Blues is due out October 16th.
