CHVRCHES - "Clearest Blue"

We are only two weeks away from the release of Every Open Eye, the much-anticipated followup to CHVRCHES's incredible debut album The Bones of What You Believe, and yesterday the band dropped the third single "Clearest Blue". In a word, "Clearest Blue" is energetic. Starting out with a steady, synth-driven beat and Lauren Mayberry's airy vocals, the track builds and grows with each verse and chorus climaxing a little over half way through with a flurry of synths and percussion that carries through to the end. My only qualm is that is takes over 2 minutes of a 4-minute song to hit the high mark. While I wasn't a huge fan of their last single, "Never Ending Circles", I am unabashedly hooked on this track.
