De'john Linward - "Juugable Planets"
I’m very much drawn to jazzy instrumentation, especially on a hip-hop track. A lot of hip-hop themes can find routes in jazz, and there’s nothing quite like someone spinning lyrical magic over a subdued production. Enter De’john Linward and his latest “Juugable Planets”. Talking about the stark and often dark differences between his life as an artist and how extreme street life can be, lines like “I see the homie with a nine, residing next to his sock, I'm in the crib writing rhymes, he out here shooting his shot” really bring the point home.
“Juugable Planets” is taken from Linward’s upcoming album Melanincholy.
