The Careful Ones - "Easy Tiger"
When I'm listening to new music, I often come across songs that I like but don't feel like they warrant much thought. The kinds of songs that don't seem to stand that far above other songs in the same genre. At first I thought “Easy Tiger” from The Careful Ones was one such song. It's light and bright, but it wasn't until the percussion enters the song that I stopped what I was doing to find out who I was listening to. The song continuously reinvents itself throughout its 4-minute duration and although any one aspect of it would be enjoyable it's the combination of these parts make it stand well above anything else comparable.
