Art of Sleeping - Crazy (Original & Remix)

Art of Sleeping is a five-piece band out of Brisbane that has started making some musical waves, and a group I'm going to use to point out what I love about original songs and their later remixes. Crazy, the band's latest single, is a blues-infused rock track with high-soaring vocals, high-energy guitar riffs, and just a fantastic bass line. This song is present and in the moment.[soundcloud url="https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/178319891" params="auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&visual=true" width="100%" height="450" iframe="true" /]Now contrast that with the recently released remix of that track by fellow Australian Tom Scary. This remix is dark, subdued, distant. It is decidedly more electronic than the original. [soundcloud url="https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/185745561" params="color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false" width="100%" height="166" iframe="true" /] I actually listened to the remix before I heard the original, and I was surprised how stark the contrast between the two songs was. Both songs are incredible, both for very different reasons, and it really highlights what I love about remixes. Same source material (of sorts), but two drastically different outcomes. It makes me fall in love with music all over again
