Brittany Howard - "Stay High"

Brittany Howard, the lead singer of Alabama Shakes (and Thunderbitch) is a powerhouse. If you’ve ever heard her sing, you know that she has such power behind her voice that it almost takes your breath away, and her lyrics handily keep up with her talent. Her latest project sees her stepping away from her group efforts to release her debut solo album, Jaime (named for her sister), an almost autobiographical album filled with emotional highs and lows. “Goat Head”, for example, talks about a racist attack her parents endured, while “Stay High” is a tribute to her father and about letting loose at the end of the day. Plus, it includes a music video starring the ever-loved Terry Crews, which only makes things better.
