Andy Shauf - "Spanish On The Beach"

It has been a couple years since I last listened to Andy Shauf, but then earlier this week a record showed up at my door (via Arts & Crafts Record Club - I highly recommend for any Canadian vinyl lovers out there). Specifically, it was Andy Shauf’s 2016 album The Party. This then got me on a bit of an Andy Shauf binge, leading to today when I discovered he released a new song just over a week ago.

“Spanish On The Beach” has the qualities I have come to expect from Shauf - mildly quirky production with incredible and enthralling lyrics sung by a modern day Paul Simon. “Spanish On The Beach” is as haunting as it is romantic and encasulates everything I love about Shauf.
