Mat Zo - "Into The Unknown" (ft. Christine Jamra)

This one came up on my SoundCloud stream a couple of days ago and I had to do a bit of a double-take when I first saw who it was by. I have only really known Mat Zo for his dance tracks (and damn does he make some great dance tracks) and apparently that's not just me that thought that as on his Facebook page Zo wrote, "Someone said I only make dance music. Here's something I produced last year that is very much not dance music. You can decide if it's an April fools prank or not." Featuring vocals from Christine Jamra, “Into The Unknown” is simple and grounded, with a restrained production and a melody that starts with simple keyboard chords and slowly grows with the steady addition of more instruments. The growth is so subtle that I had to start the song over to realize what had happened. After listening to "Into The Unknown", I can safely say that if Mat Zo wants to stop making dance tunes and make music like this I will not object, as this is one heck of a song.
