Vaults - "Premonitions"
As my dear sister will attest, I grew up listening to Annie Lennox. And not a bit of Annie here or there, I mean she was one of the artists my mother was obsessed with which meant that I listened to a whole lot of Annie Lennox (also included in the "musicians my mom was obsessed with" are The Gypsy Kings). I say this to get across one simple fact: I love Annie Lennox. I just love her and her music to pieces. So when I first heard “Premonitions”, I was initially convinced that I had stumbled across some sort of lost Annie Lennox track and kind of lost my mind. It turns out I had actually stumbled across an incredible British group by the name of Vaults. The production is deep and electronic-heavy, but the vocals just ring with that depth that made me fall in love with Annie Lennox (ok I was basically forced into liking Annie Lennox, but that voice is what kept me hooked long after it was forced upon me). I haven't heard anything else from Vaults yet, but this one song is more than enough to get me looking for every single piece of material I can find.
