While looking into “sfs”, the latest single from Sad Alex, I’ve discovered an entirely new genre known as “sad girl pop”. The TL;DR is that it is honest and raw — disarmingly so — lyrics packaged in some incredible and dynamic bangers. Don’t understand yet? Listen to Sad Alex talk about how she’s “so fucking sad all the time” and that she’s a “cynical, clinical, cyclical bitch with a love addiction [she] cannot quit.” Damn.
